Des tornades se sont abattues dimanche sur l'Iowa, le Kansas et l'Oklahoma. De nouvelles alertes ont été données ce lundi par le National Weather Service concernant notamment le nord du Texas, l'Oklahoma et l'Arkansas.

Il est essentiel de se tenir informé de l'évolution de la situation dans ces Etats par le biais des télévisions et radios locales. Chaque Etat a un département responsable des situations de crise, consultez leur site internet :

The Franco-American Vocal Academy presents its repertoire of French Operetta "La Vie Parisienne" by Jacques Offenbach at Miller Outdoor Theatre in Houston on June 8 at 8:30pm..

The performance, staged to be sung in English by 15 talented singers from American Universities and other institutions, is a spoof of the cultural melting pot, which is Paris: from modest shoemakers to barons and rich Brazilians. The captivating and exciting rhythms of Offenbach's music propel the twists and turns of the charming plot. High-jinks and Can-Can's assure a memorable evening.

Under the direction of William Lewis, a distinguish professor at the University of Texas, Austin and former leading tenor at the MET (1957-1992), 15 young opera singers will delight the public with this amusing piece adapted by Frédérique Added, Soprano renowned worldwide for her interpretation of French Melodies. A Chamber Orchestra will complete this stunning production of great live music. With the performance of “La Vie Parisienne” in Houston come a number of story ideas:

Opera Without Fences: Created in 2012, Opera Without Fences aims to bring live opera to various communities of Texas, while at the same time giving professional experience and exposure to young talented American singers. All the performances are free to the public. The venues chosen are easily accessible and share our goals of making art and culture accessible to new publics.

Suite aux décisions d'annulation prononcées par le Conseil constitutionnel le 15 février dernier, des élections législatives partielles vont être organisées dans la circonscription n°1 (Canada et États-Unis) ainsi que, pour information, dans la circonscription n°8 (Chypre, Grèce, Israël, Italie, Malte, Turquie).

Les Français inscrits sur les listes électorales consulaires de la circonscription pourront exprimer leur suffrage au moyen des mêmes modalités de vote qu'en 2012 : à l'urne, par procuration, par correspondance ou par Internet.

Dans la première circonscription, le vote à l'urne aura lieu le samedi 25 mai 2013 pour le premier tour et, dans le cas d'un second tour, le samedi 8 juin.

Le vote par voie électronique sera ouvert pour le second tour du mercredi 29 mai à partir de 5h du matin au mardi 4 juin jusqu'à 5h du matin au Texas, en Arkansas et en Oklahoma (12h heure de Paris).

Chaque électeur sera informé individuellement, par courrier, des modalités de scrutin et pourra obtenir des informations sur le site du ministère des affaires étrangères : votezaletranger.gouv.fr et sur celui du consulat de France à Houston.
